"Greatness" in History

"the Great" is a title used by historians to mean "that nasty son of a bitch who often caused enough bloodshed to fill a lake and bath with his own army, had his wife/father/brother/son strangled/poisoned and planted the seeds to cause even greater blooshed(sic) after his death".

Thus Caesar deserves the title.
